During the Fall, all characters fall into depression as there's no more heroin in Brooklyn. This is one of those movies that you would recommend to someone in a heartbeat but also a movie that you would advise someone to stay away from because of the emotional impact it leaves on you after; It's also a movie that you would have to watch at least once as many people have said. In the meantime, Marion arrives at her dealer's house, and is promised to reveive a baggie of heroin as soon as she'll take a part in a violent, lesbian sexual act, in front of dozens of viewers. There's no sugar coating here. As it was ending I heard a few people crying. Meanwhile, Sara's desire to lose weight sees her starting a regime of diet pills, morning, noon and night. Rather deeply analysing the character arc of Ellen Burstyn’s Sara Goldfarb and the troubling conclusion to that should really prove what I am trying to say. Certainly I had no real intention of watching it until it appeared on a Sky movie channel . As it was ending I heard a few people crying. The more I read about RFAD and learned, the more fascinating it seemed. Not a feel good movie by any means more of a there but for the grace of God go any one of us who for various reasons have fallen on hard times. A requiem for their dreams.The literal ending of the film begins right after “Winter” begins in the film, the metaphorical end. The acting by Jared Leto, Ellen Burstyn, Jennifer Connelly, and Marlon Wayans are true and imbued with vehemence.

Aronofskys direction is even more experimental than in "Pi" and some of his ideas, like his combination of sound and picture are really innovative and give his movie a musical feel -without creating a long music video.

It is highly rated amongst the prolific voters on this website and has received almost aggressive praise from some quarters .

Not since 1995's The Basketball Diaries, has a film so accurately portrayed the craving and depravity of a person dealing with(or succumbing to) addiction. A pretty sure sign that those folks weren't able or willing to watch with an open mind. He is seen lamenting while crying uncontrollably on the hospital bed. The acting is wonderful - Ellyn Burnstyn and Jenniffer Connely are just wonderful in this movie, and Marlon Wayons was such a shocker in a serious role.

The word, apart from its catholic inclinations typically means remembrance, physical (tokens or totems) and non-physical (acts). It got a couple of good reviews but I couldn't help noticing it took another six years for Darren Aronofsky to make another movie entitled THE FOUNTAIN which was one of the worst pieces of pretentious nonsense I ever watched .
