Interior space is of particular note, as there's plenty of headroom, loads of rear seat sprawl space and more cargo capacity than many midsize SUVs. I dislike that the parts are so expensive. I never feel anything less than perfectly safe while driving it. Interior has held up so well over time you would have a hard time guessing the age of the car. I have had my car about 3 years now.

It is also very comfortable. I love the size. The CVT transmission in our 2011 Outback failed at 120,000 miles. The only issue that I have ever noticed is that sometimes the headlights get burnt out. We love it! It gets an average of 26 mpg and is very dependable in very hot (100 degrees +) and very cold (-20 degrees) temperatures. Independent transmission shop says no parts available for this transmission and the only remedy is a $6000 plus remanufactured unit. What are the possible consequences of buying a vehicle which hasn’t undergone the proper maintenance services? Reliable, good mileage, thoughtful gas tank on the right, back windshield wiper. The last problem I want to mention is that for the last year or so, a few lights on the dashboard are on.
Super reliable, have not had a single issue with it. I really like this car and if I have to get a new one, it will definitely be a Subaru. Has been reliable with standard maintenance. The seats are very comfortable. The car does not have the pickup I want. Will certainly last another several years! Noticeable body roll and numb steering reduce the driver's confidence when tackling a winding road. I love my Subaru, it handle well in all seasons but I am especially impressed by its performance in the winter. I have the heated seats which are very welcome in the winter! Car works really well. Just a really solid vehicle with great gas mileage. But, it's four cylinder engine and four speed transmission struggled at this elevation, especially in hilly terrain. Love the AWD, size (not too big not too small), low center of gravity, safety, new enough it's modern but old enough it didn't cost me as much (I bought it used) I would definitely buy another and or recommend the Subaru Outback. Great for traveling too. The radio is not great though. The heated seats and cruise control are great, and definitely a good first car. I had always heard people say that Subarus were such great cars. That is the biggest issue. And it gets great gas mileage for the size car that it is.

I happen to know another Subaru outback owner that is having a similar problem with dashboard lights but also with her nav screen/radio/back up camera. I cannot afford to fix it. The only negative thing we have experienced with this vehicle is the sunroof leaks when we first bought it, but it was easily fixed when they replaced the rubber seal.
Problems - rusts faster than dies. Inside features are relatively up to date, provides reasonable comfort in a modern feel. When I bought the car used in 2014, my son was 3. Alert! It gets Good gas mileage. I love the Subaru outback.

And it handles great. I would never buy a car with that kind of leather again. The vehicle is all wheel drive, so it is safe to drive in all weather conditions.
