At a solid 2 hour runtime with 5 great stories (ok "Father's Day" is weak) it makes for an excellent October double feature with Trick r Treat. They did an amazing job restoring Creepshow. Creepshow looks better than it's ever looked by far and the new features are great. Season 1. This one has the creases and textures of a comic book. They have huge devoted fan followings, are extremely entertaining and fun, are loaded with amazing cameos and yet they never flourish with more films for some reason. Whenever you are craving a great horror anthology it doesn't get any better than Creepshow and Michael Dougherty's amazing Trick r Treat.
I tired multiple sound settings and nothing really helped. The Rain 2020 Serie. Pricey but worth it. Good to see lots of horror actors and directors taking part.Hope they do another series after this one . This 2-disc dvd release has great extras (a commentary; documentary; interviews; photo gallery), unlike the region 1 release on dvd or blu ray.
With Carey Jones, Logan Allen, Adrienne Barbeau, Connor Christie. It's just as great as the original film and definitely blows the terrible Creepshow 2 & 3 and the Tales from the Darkside films out of the water IMO!
The variety and talent involved will keep me coming back, and if this story don't grab you, give the next one a whirl! It looks and sounds great. I really hope this series goes long and strong without having any mass audience influences that unfortunately curses so many TV series eventually. It also comes in a nice hard cover with a book about the making of Creepshow.
Love the cool slipcover art too! It wasn't much better than the well-worn VHS tapes I rented back in the day.
I'd not watched this movie since the video nasty phenomenon of the 80's but I did enjoy rewatching it. Hell, Michael Dougherty's Halloween masterpiece Trick r Treat got screwed out of its theatrical release inexplicably and almost didn't even get released period! Looking to watch Creepshow (2019)?
In fact the mixture between live action and animation actually still feels brand new because you just don't see it anymore. I never cared for the remakes but this original Warner Bros release has always been a fave of mine. If you love Creepshow or have the old bluray, you should really consider upgrading to this. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
